If I’m going to be honest, I’ve always had a fixed mindset. While I try to identify with the virtues of a growth mindset, it takes effort for me to shed the shackles of a fixed mindset mentality.
This module of my course at BI focuses on Digital Mindfulness, and looks into how a growth mindset can help a person or even an organization conduct a culture change.
I attending lectures and familiarizing myself with the curriculum, I’m trying to learn methods for recognizing a fixed mindset in myself, and shifting towards a growth mindset. It’s not as easy as it seems, but for me it starts with potential.
Looking at failure as a greater potential for growth means also looking at failure as a learning opportunity. I definitely fail, and often; but is it really failure? Perhaps it’s just a delayed success, and perhaps by analyzing my failure and recognizing my potential for growth, I can make my delayed success even better than my immediate success would have been without an initial failure? Perhaps the only way to truly fail is to relent in the face of obstacles? Food for thought.
